How to Create a New Account?
If you are new to the WGU Student portal, you cannot log in directly. You must first register, but there are some requirements.
Requirements
Before you can create your WGU Student Portal Account, you need to:
- Submit the WGU application form.
- Pay $65 non-refundable application fee.
You won’t be able to create an account without completing these steps. Make sure your WGU enrollment application is submitted and the fee is paid.
Once you have met these requirements, follow the steps below to create your account.
- Click on Sign Up Button
- Enter your First Name
- Enter your Last Name
- Enter your Application PIN
- Click on Next

What is an Application PIN?
Your 6-digit Application PIN is a unique code you created during the WGU admission application process. After submitting your application, WGU sent this PIN to your registered email. You’ll need it to create your student account. If you can’t remember it, you can retrieve it easily.
Retrieve Forgotten PIN
First, check your email inbox and spam folder for the PIN email. If you can’t find it, click the Retrieve PIN button. Enter the email linked to your WGU account and submit the request. You’ll receive an email with your 6-digit PIN. Once you get it, use it to proceed with your account setup.

If you’ve completed your application but are still unable to retrieve your PIN, don’t worry. Sometimes, technical issues or incorrect details can cause problems. In such cases, you can reach out to WGU’s support team for help. You can also check out this guide on what to do if the portal is not working.
